Very often, the number a card has gives us additional insight into the messages within the tarot card that the universe needs you to know. Six in card readings stands for give and take, balance, overcoming problems, finding a way out of obstacles, gifts, success, moving into better times and circumstances, looking at your past to see where you’re going in the future, and going from one direction to another(movement).
Also, the Lovers is numbered 6 in the major arcana, the Tower is numbered 16 which can be viewed as having an aspect of 6 or you can choose to view it as a 7 (1+6).
It can also refer to the sixth sign of the zodiac, Virgo, or even the 6th house. The sixth house governs health, coping with difficulties, serving others and being served, and daily choices in small matters.
These meanings are in addition to what each card with the number 6 means. You’ll need to look at the surrounding cards in the meaning in order to discern what the message of the tarot card layout is. How you interpret the no. 6, also depends on the question in matter!
Spirit and Matter in the Tarot
Posted July 12, 2012
on:The cards are separated into two categories. The major and minor arcanas. The major arcana usually refers to messages about your spirit that the universe is trying to convey. It is usually called the fool’s journey, which is the journey of the spirit in human form travelling through the physical universe. The spirit begins its journey, often naive of the nature of reality and so this journey represents the awakening.
The minor arcana usually represent the symbols of physical matter. The minor arcana represent the four elements that make up the physical universe(fire, water, air and earth). Very intriguing how complicated and intricate the tarot really is, isn’t it? 🙂
I’ve noticed nearly all who contact me ask me about timing. Â This is a controversial subject for many reasons. Â First, the spirit/universe, has been in existence always, never ceasing. Â This in turn, means that our spirits have always existed as well, and so a time frame for a human, in this current lifetime, is basically meaningless when compared to the past and future years of existence that we have and will live. We are asking a question that to the universe translates to ‘during what part of the blink of an eye’ of the entire existence of the universe, will “X” occur?’
Because of this, When I answer questions regarding timing, I rely on the tarot and always state a disclaimer. Â The tarot speaks in symbols and not in specifics. Â It was initially, and still is, meant to empower you to create a better life for yourself. Â However, readers over the centuries have noted certain patterns, similar to those seen in astrology, that occur within the cards and passed this information on to the following generations. They are not 100% accurate and do not promise to be.
Keep in mind, the cards, just like  a person(or any entity in the universe), can be fickle and behave like a human, especially when ‘tested’ or someone ‘demands’ too much from them.  Or sometimes the cards just don’t want to answer because it is the tactful thing to do!
The timing is as follows:
Wands = Summer and/or the Fire Signs of Zodiac(Aries – April, Sagitarius – December, Leo -August).
Swords = Winter and/or the Air Signs(Libra, Gemini and Aquarius).
Pentacles = Fall/Autumn and/or the Earth Signs(Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo).
Cups = Spring and/or Water Signs(Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio).
The major arcana generally corresponds to an event happening in years/months or sometimes during the time of the zodiac sign that corresponds to the card.
The minor arcana generally relate to shorter time frames. The court cards relate to months, pip cards to days.
An example:
For example the Moon card is governed by Cancer so the event may occur years from now, or sometime during the time of Cancer, or years from now during the time of Cancer, or during a time when people value the ideals emulated by Cancers. It goes on and on!
This subject could go on and on as well incorporating even more possible time frames such as ‘the age of Aquarius’ which is associated with SEVERAL YEARS, the suit of pentacles which can certainly describe the Victorian era which also spanned several years, and more!! 🙂
So…. when you ask a tarot reader about a time frame, just remember that is a very loaded question, especially when it is the universe, through the cards, that is answering the question! 🙂
Also, I don’t like time frames because that implies limitation. I like to think we are all in charge of our own destiny and WE choose when something will happen!
I wish you well and will update soon!
The Magician
Posted July 4, 2012
on:This Magician card is numbered “1” in the major arcana. Â Usually, the Fool card precedes it in the order of the cards as it is numbered “0”. Â The number one stands for a new beginning. Â So the Magician represents a new beginning on the fool’s journey(the spirit’s journey) through this current incarnation.
When you see the Magician be assured that you’re on the verge of beginning “something new” and that this “something new” will be very significant in your life. Â We know that it is significant because a major arcana card is involved.
The card is usually shown with each symbol from the four suits – a cup, a pentacle, a sword and a wand. Â Â Thus, the “something new” can be anything!
The magician also refers to the power of your will. The magician card reminds you that you have the power of your will to effect the change you want to see in your life!
